Stained Glass Teapot Lamp

Just as I was leaving the auction last night my daughter-in-law said "Look at that pretty teapot they're selling". Well they had a dollar bid and I bid two and got it. I didn't know it was a lamp until I had it in my hand. You really can't tell much from my pictures but the blue is really outstanding when the lights are off. I bought three teapots this week-end but this by far the winner.It has rained all day here and I am so thankful. I can't wait to see how it has effected my new trees. I have one Bradford Pear that I am really worried about. Hopefully it will leaf out after this rain. My Grand-daughter spent the night and swam all day in the rain. She wanted me to come out and swim with her but it just looked too cold to me. They are really going to miss the pool this winter, but there is always late spring. You know Roger never looks at tommorrow. When he was in Vietnam he learned to take one day at a time because tommorrow you might die. You would think after 38 years he would have gotten past that but it is always with him. That is part of the PTSD. I would love to wave a wand and make it all go away for him..Until next time........

Bird House Poles

These are the poles Roger made to put my feeder on. The first one was made out of a double tree from an old wagon welded to a metal pole. The double tree came with the two hooks. The second is a telescopic pole. He put a small metal pole into a larger one, drilled a hole where it was almost at the end of the little one and put a lever screw in it. All you have to do is turn the screw and it comes down so I can get off the pole and refill it. He has such an inventive mind. Unfortunatly I have no idea about anything new. Don't even tell me what it is going to be because I have to see it before it registers in my poor feeble mind. He feels pretty good today . Maybe it is Gina's White Light. Whatever it is I am thankful for the prayers and everything you guys do to make him better. We got married when I was 17, I'm 54 now so he is my whole life and I couldn't imagine what it would be like without him. I went to two auctions this weekend so will probally put more up today. Yard Sale Find

I found these at a yard sale this morning for 25 cents. They are all signed Donald Zolan and each is numbered. The little girl bending over is looking at a catapiller. I thought they were wonderful. I am going to get little plate holders to put them in. From the research I did this morning this artist is known for his paintings of children. Anyway I'm happy with them. I also found some Avon eggs with birds painted on them. They are so pretty. I figure Linda will probally end up with them so I'll let her put them on her blog. Hubby is almost finished with the bird feeders and they are going to look great ! He had a really bad night last night. I couldn't get his blood pressure up until about 11:30 p.m. It just stayed at about 51 on the bottom and heart rate was 50 and 51. This scares me to death. I always make a pot of coffee and walk him around but nothing seemed to work for a long time. He got up this morning and his blood sugar was 258 so I gave him an insulin shot and he's resting now. Keep him in your prayers please. May the wind always be at your back and an angel resting on your shoulder...........

Tulip Teapot

This is one of my favorites. I bought this from a lady that used to have an antique shop in Oklahoma City. I think she told me it belonged to her sisters Mother. Our friend Linda from Mish Mash is supposed to have a heart cath done any day now so please keep her in you prayers. I don't know how to explain our friendship. From the frist time we met there was a bond there. We have so much in common as far as family is concerned. It's like we both are the same (lol).I have been thrifting lately and have not bought a thing for me. I have bought thread for Linda and and a Hall cassarole and swim suits for my Grand-daughter. The weather is great here for a change it actually got chilly last night. Me and my (OLD) hormones can live with that I promise. Roger has built me a new bird feeder pole. I will take pictures when it is completed. He is so inventive. The one he built last year has a telescopic pole that you can lower to get the feeder down. That is a good thing if you are as short as I am. What he is doing is, building me memories. Till next time may you angel be on your shoulder.

F.B. Rogers Silver Company

Roger picked this tea service up at a yard sale last summer and i have had it stored in a box until last night. It is marked with a crown and has traders mark at the top of the crown ,on the sides of the crown are 18 83 F.B. Rogers Silver Co. It was so tarnished I thought it would take forever to polish but with a new product called Tarn-X I had the whole set with tray done in less than an hour . I really like it and you won't believe what he gave for the whole set..$5.00. You can see I have trained him well to look for bargans. This is labor Day week-end for us and we have about worked ourselves into total exhaustion doing yard and house work. Wonder if that is what Labor Day is for..lol The kids just called and are on their way over so I guess I am ready for them. The house looks so good and will be such a mess when they leave but I love them so much it doesn't even matter. Til next time every one have a good night and a better tomorrow.

MAde in Japan Teaset

I found this little darling in a thrift store in Sherman Texas. I believe I gave $10.00 for the set. It is really unusal to find the complete set in these thrift stores so I was really happy with this find. I love the butterflies and the vibrant colors don't you?........I was so carried away with Joeys poem yesterday I forgot to mention that it was published in a book of poetry called Anthology of Poetry of Young Americans. Teachers submit poems from students and after review they select the poems to be published depending on content, originality, and age of the student. We are so proud of him. He turns 15 next Sat. I can hardly believe it. This year he is working on the school newspaper. No telling what will come of that.(lol). He and Allie who turns 13 in October will get out of school today for Labor Day and I am pretty sure I will be getting a call to see if they can spend the weekend and swim. I love it !!!!! We are going to VA today for hubbys appointment and I am supposed to meet a man to go over his papers for PTSD before he files them. Bless their hearts sometimes they just don't know which way to turn....See Ya Later

I have to tell you that we got a book of poetry this morning and in it is a poem my Grandson wrote. Winter

Cold, mind numbing cold
The light fluffy flakes landing softlyon the soil
All around it's white frozen fire
Freezing your fingers and your nose
There are no footprints,the sun has swallowed them up.
The tree's decorated thickly with the white fire
The animals scurry to get away
To find the hot bright sun hoping for its rays
The world seems to stand still, yet moves so quickly
A tiny yellow bird steps out
Onto a thick snow covered branch
The bird sings; it sings the song of winter

I am busting at the seams I am so proud. I almost forgot about the above teapot, duh. It is Orchard Ware made in California. I really think it is too big but it also is very pretty. I think I bought it at an auction but I'm not really sure. I am so glad to have this blog so I can share these wonderful things with so many people. For that I have Linda at Mish Mash to thank. Nippon Teapot

This is the only Nippon teapot I have. It is marked on the bottom with the M in a wreath. You won't believe I bought this at a yard sale for $1.00. This is probally one of my best finds. I think it is really pretty and not a chip anywhere. I had to go back to the lab today for more blood work. My liver enzymes are way out of whack and the blood in my urine was a little higher last week so the Dr. is having a fit. I have had blood in my urine for about 14 years but couldn't see it until about six months ago. I go to Dallas in Oct. for some really awful tests and we will see from there. Well it finally rained ! I am so grateful . I think we got about an inch and my trees I planted in this drought are really perked up tonight. I hope we get some more this week but if not am happy with the little we got. About time for me to go to bed so good night old friends and new friends. Damn I love this Blog thing !!!

Dogpatch Teapot

  This is also one of my favorites. I bought this teapot at a Thrift store in Denison Texas for a small sum of $5.00. It has under Lil Abner 1975 Cap Enterprises,etc. I thought it was quite a find. I now have two friends from Australia and I am so excited. Who would have thought such a thing would be possible when we were growing up? MY buddy Linda has quit smoking ! Good for her ! Now all I have to do is take up the same commitment. Scares me to death. The thought of failure on such an important thing is awful. Any way good for you Linda. Cottageware Teapot

I just love this little teapot. I found it at an estate sale in Texas. The only mark on it is II with a line and two slants at each side on top. I really like it and everyone that "does" teapots wants it. You would be amazed at the teapots I give away just because they like it so much. I think I am going to go online and start selling some of these trasures I find. Gina you wouldn't believe the linens I have of all kind I think I'll start another Blog just for them and my "finds". Housework calls so til next time..........

China or Japan ?

I don't remember where I bought this teapot but I thought it was different from any I have seen. It is in perfect condition. The only markings on the bottom are in either Japanese or Chinese. It has the dragons on four sides and a dragon head on the handle. It has several different sides and angles to it. If anyone has any info let me know.The wind is up and it sort of looks like rain. Everyone keep their fingers crossed. Until we meet again..........

Cosmopolitan Ware

This wonderful little teapot is Cosmopolitan Ware which is on the bottom as well as Fresno K Gold Warranted 22 K Gold. I just love the little short spout. It has one small nick at the bottom but the rest is in excellant condition. I bought this at my Friday night sale for about $5.00. I went to an auction last night and got some wonderful old linen tablecloths. They are all vintage and in great shape. Included in this buy were old aprons, bonnets, quilts and a fabulous tapestry made in Italy . I paid more for the four boxes that held these treasures than I normally would $ 24.00 a box but I have 18 tablecloths and they will more than bail me out.Until next time may the wind always be at your back........

Occupied Japan

This litle "cupa" teapot was made in Occupied Japan. It is marked on the bottom with raised letters. The flowers are also raised on the sides. It is in perfect condition. I think it is really cute....On WE channel last nite was a program some may remember from the early nineties China Beach. It was about a hospital unit in Vietnam on China Beach. I never missed it when it was on every week. Well after the very first pilot show was shown last night a special program came on . It was called Vietnam Women. There were numerous interviews with some of the nurses that took care of our boys in Vietnam. I challange anyone to watch this and not cry. Even after all these years you can see the pain and sadness in these womens faces. It was 1993 before these women got their own memorial in Washington D.C. It was 1989 before their names were added to the " Wall " and they were not entitled to a Purple Heart if they were wounded. To me and this is my own opinion every damn one of them would have gotten the Congressional Medal of Honor. If you had anyone in Vietnam be it friend or relative and they were wounded or maybe didn't make it these were the hands that wiped their faces and held their hands. It was these women that heard the last words of a 18 year old " tell Mom I loved her". Never ever forget these wonderful women............

Royal Sealy Teapot

This little teapot has a paper sticker on the bottom that says Royal Sealy Japan. On the bottom to the side in red is 25/9 . I think I bought this at a garage sale in Texas. It has age crackle on the paint but is in perfect condition. Got all the towels done up today and I am ready for the heatherns this coming week-end. It is so hot you can't stand it out side. I am still praying for rain. Lots of rain..........Don't you just love the vibrant colors of the fruit on the teapot?.......Happy Trails

Frankoma Teapot

This is the only Frankoma teapot I own. I never really cared for Frankoma but it was a good buy so I got it. At the same time I bought a Frankoma milk pitcher. The kids finally went home and I am totally exhausted. They are so spoiled they want me up there butts every minute and boy, I don't have that stamina any more. Roger got in the pool for the first time this morning and you should have seen those white legs. I had to turn around so he couldn't see me laughing. I'll bet it's been ten years since those flashy white's have seen the sun.......Time for a little R&R so until we meet again...........

Another Sadler Teapot

This is another Sadler teapot I bought at auction. On the bottom in blue it has Sadler made in England. On the bottom also is 1841 VT in gold. I think this is one of my best buys.

We bought a BIG 18'x4' Swimming pool for the Grandkids and they are having a ball in it. I never knew there was so much laundry involved with a pool though. Talk about a buy it came with chemicals , filter and all kinds of extras. By the time I got through trading that day I have $20.00 in it.Time to go get another load of towels out of the dryer.......Nanna's work is never done but it is so worth it.

Sadler Teapot

This was my first English teapot. It is a Sadler and I love the flow blue pattern. I believe I bought this at an auction that I go to every Friday night. Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. I have had a terrific toothache. I got antibiotics Thursday and it is ready to come out. And boy am I ready to be rid of it.I went to a garage sale Sat. and I bought two books both first editions. The best was Raintree County by Ross Lockridge Jr.It was in excellant shape. I bought it and The House Divided by Ben Ames Williams for $1.00 each.I also got a box of embrodiery for $1.50. That was all the shopping I did due to the hot weather but all three were great buys. Henk Bos Photos or Prints?

1. We were at Goodwill yesterday and I found these for 50 cents a piece. On the back they say Henk Bos (1901- ) Pat. pending Distributed by Famous Paintings Associates . I thought they were really nice and the price was right sooooooo. I also found a photo in 11"x14" of Mary Baker Eddy. Under her photo is Copyright 1911 The Christion Science Publishing Society. That one was $3.00. Any way was a pretty good day of finds. Everyone pray for rain. It is so dry the chiggers have packed up and left. It's pretty short this time but have to finish watering.
