Henk Bos Photos or Prints?

  1. We were at Goodwill yesterday and I found these for 50 cents a piece. On the back they say Henk Bos (1901- ) Pat. pending Distributed by Famous Paintings Associates . I thought they were really nice and the price was right sooooooo. I also found a photo in 11"x14" of Mary Baker Eddy. Under her photo is Copyright 1911 The Christion Science Publishing Society. That one was $3.00. Any way was a pretty good day of finds. Everyone pray for rain. It is so dry the chiggers have packed up and left. It's pretty short this time but have to finish watering. I've been trying to get these pictures uploaded all day. Til next time Happy Trails. Didn't you just love Roy and want to be Dale so bad..........

Love those still life prints! I am not a fan of 'modern art' - weird shapes and colours that don't make sense. Your prints are the kind of picture I would like to have on my dining room wall if we didn't already have Australian paintings of rural scenes!

Henk Bos 1901-1979 He was born in Huizen, Holland, son of the village cobbler. At age eleven Bos was apprenticed as a plaster's assistant in order to help support his family but all his free time from that age was spent in museums studing and leaning from the Old Masters. Bos's struggle to exist as a painter lasted over thirty-five years. The World of Bos is one repose. It is also a rich delight to the senses, with its luxuriant extures of pewter, old walls, parchment and lavishly glazed and modeled fruits that glow from lustrous canvases. All of his works are still-life. They are painted with the objects from everyday life and instilled with light and beauty by his expertise.
This is a few thing I have found out from the Maryhill Museum, where they have some works of him!
