Christmas Teapots

I went thrifting today and found things for both of my blogs. Like I don't have anything to put on them (lol). there was a sale on christmas things 75% off. The Snowman cost thirty cents and the Santa was fifty cents. Today that is the cheapest I ever paid for a teapot. I thought they were really cute and believe it or not I didn't have any teapots that were Christmas themed.I guess I am on a roll this is the second posting this week.It is always a relief to get the Holidays over with. I get so moody and hateful sometimes that I am ashamed but it seems that grief takes over my life at this time of the year.It will be 12 years since we lost our first born at the age of 25. His birthday is coming up on Jan. 31 and the day he died Feb. 6. After all those dates I will be back to myself once again I hope. You would think the pain would go away after all this time but it just doesn't. Everyone have a Happy New Year and God bless each of you this coming year. Please keep our soldiers in your prayers it isn't getting any better over there. They say time repeats itself and this whole thing takes me back to about 38 years ago when Vietnam was happening. I hated it then and I hate it now. Okay enough is enough. Til we meet again..............

Beautiful New Teapot

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my friends in Blogland. I am so sorry it has been so long since I posted but the Holidays are really hard for me and I guess I get the doldrums about a week before Thanksgiving and it pretty much stays with me until Feb. 6th. I got this teapot at the Friday night sale we go to. I gave $6.00 for it and I think it is beautiful. I don't have one with the blue as vibrant as this. To all my buddies in Aussieland my prayers are with you that the brushfire situation will get under control. We had so many in Oklahoma this year we were afraid to leave our house. For months all you could smell was smoke and had to wonder if it was close to you. Thankfully we didn't have any that close. now we are beginning to get the much needed rain that we didn't have all Spring and Summer.Everyone have a Happy Holiday from me to you.................

Elegant Occupied Japan Teapot

I

I really love this teapot. You can't tell by the pictures but it is a really majestic purple with gold trim. I found this one at a garage sale this summer for $2.00 It holds about four cups. We have been really busy trying to start a new Vietnam Vets Organization. Sometimes I want to cry and other times I just want to walk off and leave to the guys. It is so hard for Roger to do anything because he can't hear so that leaves me to handle whatever comes to his mind . Believe me when I say his mind never rests. There is such a need for an organization that no matter what I can't give up. So many of our Veterans have PTSD and don't have a clue how to file a claim or even what the symptoms are. I always knew there was something not quite right with him but had no idea there was a name for it much less compensation. Now that I know I have to "Pay it forward" and help other vets and their families. Anyway I'll get off that subject for now at least. Got to go to the other blog and put some "goodies" on there. Watch for your Angel it's always with you................

Another Porcelier Teapot

I remembered I had another Porcelier teapot but could'nt find it until tonight. That should be a hint at how many teapots I have. I think I like the little Dutch boy and girl the best. We have had a very busy week-end and I think this week will be just as busy so be patient and I will post as I can. I don't know why this uploaded two pictures of the same thing but sometimes my brain and my computer get mixed signals. Every one have a great week...........

Porcelier Teapot

We stopped on the way home today at a monthly flea-market in Bonham Texas. These people were setting out all these wonderful old antiques. It was one of those deals where you wish you were rich and could make them an offer on all their stuff. Any way I found three teapots and this is one of them. It is in excellant condition and really heavy. I thought it was so pretty and I didn't have anything even similar to it. I promise to put the other two up this week-end when I have time. Hubby has me working on a Veterans project and it is so time consuming I don't have very much extra time for anything else. Until next time. remember this week-end is Veterans Day so remember all the ones we have lost over the years...................

It is a beautiful day here in Oklahoma and the cracks in my yard are finally closing. sure hope we have a wet and warm winter. Back to the teapot. There are no chips cracks or anything wrong with it. I think it will fit very well with my others , don't you? I have so many now they look like they are hatching lol. But a person can never have enough teapots.........................

Moss Rose Electric Teapot

I found this pretty little teapot at a garage sale last summer. I just love the little Bluebird that sits on top. These are pretty common because I see them all the time so if anyone wants one let me know. They are always under $5.00. We are supposed to get storms here this afternoon like Spring weather . I just hope there are no tornado's or large hail. the air is really muggy outside. Well we are off to the Dr. today. Roger goes to counseling every Thursday. I can't tell it does any good but if he can be one bit better then I am all for it. Got to go get ready. Evryone have a great day and remember that Angel that sits on your shoulder..........

McCoy Brown Drip

What a surprise yesterday when a friend dropped by and had this wonderful set of McCoy for me. I have a set of Hull brown drip that is almost like it but no McCoy. The teapot and sugar are in perfect condition but the creamer has a chip on the pour spout. we have been having wonderful weather here. I just love the fall but not looking forward to winter. My cousin from Wales is here visiting and she is sending me an antique Brown Betty teapot when she gets home. I have a new one but the old ones are what I want. they started making Brown betty's in the 1600's froma particular kind of clay found only in an area of England. I think it is almost like our Frankoma which is made from clay in Shawnee Oklahoma. I have a Frankoma teapot but it has never been a favorite with me. I guess I just can't get excited with that awful green. roger is feeling a little better i am glad to say but I have really limited his activities and it has seemed to help. Bless his heart he wants to do the things he did twenty years ago. Don't we all ? I hope you all have a wonderful week...... Happy teapot hunting.

Bee'zzzzzzzzzzzz

This little teapot is from Tender Hearts Treasures. I thought it was so cute. Of course it is only big enough for one cup but it goes with all the rest anyway. I have had two teeth that have been killing me. I called every dentist in the book and they can get me in in about two weeks. I swear I think I will pull them myself if they don't quit hurting. My aunt who is kind of weird anyway is having her Thanksgiving dinner this Sat. so everyone will be there. We are all supposed to bring something so I will take my Macaroni Corn Cassarole. This is wonderfull for family gatherings and get togethers.
Preheat oven to 375
In cassarole dish mix the following.
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup chopped onion
1 can creamed corn
1 can whole corn
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 small box of Mexican Velveeta Cheese
Stir all ingredients and cook for 45 minutes. Stir one time in the middle of cooking. For a whole meal add smoked sausage cut up to this. It is great.
Hope everyone is doing good. My buddy Linda had her heart cath done and they put a stint in a clogged artrery. She is still getting herself together and on the mend. Bye everyone and Happy Hunting...........

Look What I Found

I got this at an auction last night. I was so excited! My husband wanted to know what I was waiting for and I told him it was a teapot that had my name on it. Can you believe I only had to give $1.00 for it? I am so happy! Later.........

My Favorite Teapot

I have had more compliments on this teapot than any other. All my buying friends want to buy it but so far I have never been that hard up. I bought this at a flea market in Bonham Texas for a little of nothing. It is 10" tall so really it would probally be classified as a coffee pot but now that I own it , it is a teapot. It is the same on each side and has no markings but that is fine with me. We have been so busy going to the Dr. that I haven't had time for anything so this will be a good surprise for those that have been checking up on me. Miss Mish Mash has her heart cath done Friday so everyone say a prayer for her and keep your fingers crossed that she will be alright. I have petitions out every where in the area against these terrible protesters so maybe something will get done. Well I( hope it won't be over a week before I post again but can't promise only will try. Everyone be good and don't forget that Angel that is on your shoulder....

Sgt. Clint Williams

This has been my weekend.
Roger got up at 5:30 Sat. a.m. because he had not slept all night. This story began Sept. 17 when Sgt. Clint Williams was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. He had two bronze Stars and a purple heart. He has been recommended for the Medal of Honor for saving some of his men in an attack two months ago. He was badly wounded then but asked to be sent back. Clint was from Rogers hometown Kingston Oklahoma. We got word Friday morning that he had arrived and the funeral would be Sat. Morn. We were also told that a group of protesters from Kansas would be there to insult this young mans family and friends. There are a group of Vets that started an organization called the Patriot Guard Riders in November of 05 because this group was showing up at these funerals of our troops that had died in Iraq. This first picture was taken at the school where the service was held. That's Roger in the blue shirt holding the flag. Thay set up a boundry around the family so these people couldn't get close to them. after all the family and friends were in the school we all left for the cemetary. There were four miles of bikes and cars and pickups on each side of the road. Everyone had a flag and all the vets were at attention with there flags at rest. about ten minutes before the family got there no one said a word, no cell phones on, not even the children were noisey. When the family arrived the Vets once again followed them into the cemetary and set up a boundry around them. The protesters had bullhorns and shouted things like "A good soldier is a dead soldier" and " God loves IED's" and "You are not burying a hero, you are burying a ass". I have never been so mad in all my life. This is one family from Topeka Kansas from they call it the Westboro Baptist church. The founder is named Fred Phelps and this is his wife and children , their husbands and wives and their children. They are a bunch of sick Bastards and starting tommorrow I am going to find out how to stop them. I have spent all day writing up petions for people to sign to make it a law these people cannot desacrate our dead.Check out these people and also check out the Patriot Riders. Roger joined yesterday. Sorry but teapots haven't been on my mind for a day or two.

Pottery Teapot

I think I bought this little beauty at a flea market in Texas . I thought the flowers and colors were great. I wish I knew who made it or it's origin. If anyone has an idea please pass it on. We are tearing down an old storage building that has been an eye-sore for far too long. I have discovered muscles in my thighs and calfs that I never knew I had. I must try squatting more often (lol). Roger has had 2 good days out of 6 this week. It is driving me crazy. I talked to his heart coordinator today and she said he should be in the hospital but NO he has to get that building down. Hell it's been out there all 4 years we have lived here so why now. Like I said he drives me crazy. But God knows I love him dearly.Until next time never put off telling that special someone how much you love them.......

Stained Glass Teapot Lamp

Just as I was leaving the auction last night my daughter-in-law said "Look at that pretty teapot they're selling". Well they had a dollar bid and I bid two and got it. I didn't know it was a lamp until I had it in my hand. You really can't tell much from my pictures but the blue is really outstanding when the lights are off. I bought three teapots this week-end but this by far the winner. It has rained all day here and I am so thankful. I can't wait to see how it has effected my new trees. I have one Bradford Pear that I am really worried about. Hopefully it will leaf out after this rain. My Grand-daughter spent the night and swam all day in the rain. She wanted me to come out and swim with her but it just looked too cold to me. They are really going to miss the pool this winter, but there is always late spring. You know Roger never looks at tommorrow. When he was in Vietnam he learned to take one day at a time because tommorrow you might die. You would think after 38 years he would have gotten past that but it is always with him. That is part of the PTSD. I would love to wave a wand and make it all go away for him..Until next time........

Bird House Poles

These are the poles Roger made to put my feeder on. The first one was made out of a double tree from an old wagon welded to a metal pole. The double tree came with the two hooks. The second is a telescopic pole. He put a small metal pole into a larger one, drilled a hole where it was almost at the end of the little one and put a lever screw in it. All you have to do is turn the screw and it comes down so I can get off the pole and refill it. He has such an inventive mind. Unfortunatly I have no idea about anything new. Don't even tell me what it is going to be because I have to see it before it registers in my poor feeble mind. He feels pretty good today . Maybe it is Gina's White Light. Whatever it is I am thankful for the prayers and everything you guys do to make him better. We got married when I was 17, I'm 54 now so he is my whole life and I couldn't imagine what it would be like without him. I went to two auctions this weekend so will probally put more up today. Later.............

Yard Sale Find

I found these at a yard sale this morning for 25 cents. They are all signed Donald Zolan and each is numbered. The little girl bending over is looking at a catapiller. I thought they were wonderful. I am going to get little plate holders to put them in. From the research I did this morning this artist is known for his paintings of children. Anyway I'm happy with them. I also found some Avon eggs with birds painted on them. They are so pretty. I figure Linda will probally end up with them so I'll let her put them on her blog. Hubby is almost finished with the bird feeders and they are going to look great ! He had a really bad night last night. I couldn't get his blood pressure up until about 11:30 p.m. It just stayed at about 51 on the bottom and heart rate was 50 and 51. This scares me to death. I always make a pot of coffee and walk him around but nothing seemed to work for a long time. He got up this morning and his blood sugar was 258 so I gave him an insulin shot and he's resting now. Keep him in your prayers please. May the wind always be at your back and an angel resting on your shoulder...........

Tulip Teapot

This is one of my favorites. I bought this from a lady that used to have an antique shop in Oklahoma City. I think she told me it belonged to her sisters Mother. Our friend Linda from Mish Mash is supposed to have a heart cath done any day now so please keep her in you prayers. I don't know how to explain our friendship. From the frist time we met there was a bond there. We have so much in common as far as family is concerned. It's like we both are the same (lol).I have been thrifting lately and have not bought a thing for me. I have bought thread for Linda and and a Hall cassarole and swim suits for my Grand-daughter. The weather is great here for a change it actually got chilly last night. Me and my (OLD) hormones can live with that I promise. Roger has built me a new bird feeder pole. I will take pictures when it is completed. He is so inventive. The one he built last year has a telescopic pole that you can lower to get the feeder down. That is a good thing if you are as short as I am. What he is doing is, building me memories. Till next time may you angel be on your shoulder.
